NordBrief Rendsburg
NordBrief Rendsburg is a private postal service provider in Schleswig-Holstein. On 14 July 2023, NordBrief issued the Wacken Wallet Edition — a collaboration with the Wacken Open Air festival and the first German crypto stamp, four months before Deutsche Post (Brandenburg Gate, November 2023). Technical partner is Variuscard/VariusSystems (Vienna), who also produce Austrian Post crypto stamps.

NordBrief Rendsburg has operated as a private postal service provider in Schleswig-Holstein since 1995. In 2023, NordBrief became the exclusive stamp partner of the Wacken Open-Air Festival — and used this cooperation to enter the German crypto stamp market before Deutsche Post itself became active.
Tech stack: Variuscard GmbH (Vienna) handled printing, and Variuscard subsidiary VariusSystems developed the blockchain integration. Polygon ERC-721 NFTs, same tech stack as Austrian Post crypto stamps and the Stampfinity cluster (PostNL, POST Luxembourg, bpost, Faroe Islands, EPG).
Friction point: The digital content (promised bonus video from W:O:A 2023) was not delivered at the drop. Only in spring 2024 — over 8 months after sales — did WOA Festival GmbH add a video with festival footage. NordBrief and Variuscard depended on content release from the Wacken organizers.
Significance in wiki: Marks the beginning of German crypto stamps — not by the national postal company, but by a private operator. Also the first example of the category "Private crypto stamps in Germany".
