Crypto Stamp 6 Mythologie — Five-Country Joint Issue
The Crypto Stamp 6 Mythologie edition of 18 September 2025 is a five-country joint edition. Five postal services present six Greek gods: Zeus and Hera (Austrian Post, both motifs), Hermes (PostNL), Artemis (POST Luxembourg), Athena (bpost), and Poseidon (CTT Portugal). Design by Lisa Filzi (Vienna), who also created CS 5.2 Dragon. CTT Portugal joins a Crypto Stamp joint edition for the first time.

History
Crypto Stamp 6 Mythologie of 18 September 2025 marks the fifth and largest escalation step of international Crypto Stamp joint editions to date. After bilateral (CS 4.0 Bull, AT + NL, 2022), trilateral (CS 5.1 Lion, AT + NL + LU, 2023), and quadrilateral (CS 5.2 Dragon, AT + NL + LU + BE, 2024) follows now quintilateral: five countries jointly, six gods as motifs. With Portugal, an Iberian country joins the Crypto Stamp family for the first time — closing an important geographic gap.
The edition was released uniformly in all five countries on 18 September 2025 — unlike CS 5.2 Dragon (October 2024), where the Dutch variant appeared three weeks earlier. The unified date signals the increasing maturity of the joint-edition format: logistical coordination among five postal services has by now become so well-rehearsed that diverging dates are no longer necessary.
Concept: Six Gods, Five Countries
Unlike previous joint editions, which varied a single shared motif (Bull, Lion, Dragon), CS 6 Mythologie brings six different gods on six different stamps. Each country was assigned a god that fits the national identity or postal history of the country:
| Country | God / Goddess | Symbolic Meaning | Connection to the Country |
|---|---|---|---|
| Austria | Zeus & Hera | King and queen of the gods | "Leadership, tradition, unity" — AT as CS inventor and coordinator |
| Netherlands | Hermes | Messenger of the gods | Postman symbolism direct to PostNL |
| Luxembourg | Artemis | Goddess of the hunt and wilderness | Luxembourg's natural richness (Mëllerdall, Ardennes) |
| Belgium | Athena | Goddess of strategy and wisdom | Brussels as Europe's strategy center |
| Portugal | Poseidon | God of the seas and horses | Atlantic identity + CTT horseback messenger logo |
The thematic selection is deliberately curated. Unlike the Dragon edition, where the motif (dragon) was transnational and semantically neutral, every CS 6 variant has strong national anchoring. The motif tells a story about its respective country — and the five stories together form a narrative about European postal heritage.
Two Stamps for Austria
A particularity of the edition: Austria receives two gods — Zeus & Hera as a divine couple. Österreichische Post thus issues two standalone crypto stamps for the CS 6 generation, while all other joint partners issue only one. This special status has strategic and symbolic reasons.
Strategic. Austria has been the driver and coordinator of the Crypto Stamp program since 2019. Österreichische Post is the only postal administration to have continuously released solo editions (CS 1.0, CS 2.0, CS 3.0, CS 3.1, CS 5.0 Bear, plus all Gold Editions, plus the Crypto Stamp Coin) — alongside joint editions. With two stamps in CS 6, Austria underscores its special status as the driving force.
Symbolic. Zeus and Hera as a divine couple represent "leadership, tradition, and unity" — fitting the Austrian role as coordinator. The postal administration positioned the edition explicitly: "Austria once again shows how tradition and technology can be seamlessly combined."
Designer: Lisa Filzi (Second Time)
The design conception was undertaken for the second time in a row by Austrian designer Lisa Filzi (Vienna) — for CS 5.2 Dragon (2024), she had already developed four individual dragon designs for the four joint partners. With CS 6 Mythologie, she is the first designer to be responsible for a Mainstream joint edition twice in succession.
Filzi's design language is consistent: layered design (heritage from Sandra Smulders' CS 5.1 Lion), bright and lively colors, "young and playful" aesthetic. For the six god stamps of CS 6, she developed six standalone mythology illustrations that on the one hand characterize their individual gods, on the other hand share a coherent design language as a set.
Variant Distribution: 30 Digital Twins
As with CS 5.2 Dragon, the five-tier color rarity returns. Each of the six god stamps exists in five digital color twins:
- Black (~52.3%) — most common variant
- Green (~26.7%)
- Blue (~13.3%)
- Yellow (~6.7%)
- Red (~1.0%) — rarest variant
With six stamps × five colors, a total of 30 digital twins result — an increase over the 20 twins of CS 5.2 Dragon. This is the greatest collector complexity in the history of Mainstream editions.
The Strictly Limited Complete Set
A special form of the edition: Österreichische Post offers a strictly limited complete set with all five national Crypto Stamps together for 75 EUR. Mintage: only 200 sets.
This is a notable premiere in Crypto Stamp distribution. Until now, collectors who wanted the complete joint-edition set had to source each national variant separately via the respective postal administration — which was logistically demanding for Portuguese collectors sourcing the LU variant, or vice versa. With the 200-set bundle, Österreichische Post takes over coordination and delivers a finished complete set to collectors.
For a regular individual purchase of the five stamps, the total price would be around 47 EUR (9.90 + 9.90 + 9.00 + 10.30 + 9.90 — estimates for AT/NL/BE/LU/PT). The bundle price of 75 EUR thus contains a premium of about 28 EUR for logistics, packaging, and the exclusive 200-set limit.
The bundle price is, however, a special case: since the set runs through Österreichische Post, it covers two stamps for Austria (Zeus + Hera) — only one stamp per other joint partner. Complete collectors who want all six gods must acquire the set + Hera (or Zeus) separately.
Material and Format
CS 6 Mythologie retains the established technical platform of the Crypto Stamp series:
- Format: 43 × 53 mm stamps, stamp block in ISO bank card format
- Material: Invercote Creato matt 240 g/m² paper, PET film for NFC chip
- Finish: Silver metallic foil printing and varnish
- Printing: Color offset and screen printing
- NFC chip: 384 bytes AES-SUN NDEF encryption
- Blockchain: ERC-721 on Ethereum, primary sidechain Polygon
- Production: Variuscard GmbH, Vienna — same producer since CS 1.0 (2019)
Material constancy since 2019 is notable. While design language, joint-edition format, blockchain architecture, and marketing strategy have continuously evolved, physical stamp production has remained identical. Collectors who own all Crypto Stamp editions thus hold a homogeneously produced collection from 2019 to 2025.
Significance
CS 6 Mythologie marks several milestones in Crypto Stamp history:
- Quintilateral scaling: First joint edition with five participating postal services — scaling from four to five countries
- CTT Portugal's premiere: Portugal is represented in the Crypto Stamp family for the first time — geographic expansion into the Iberian space
- 30 digital twins: Greatest collector complexity of Mainstream history (6 stamps × 5 colors)
- Complete-set innovation: First officially curated 200-set bundle across all joint partners
- Double edition for Austria: First generation in which a joint partner emits two stamps (Zeus & Hera)
- Designer continuity: Lisa Filzi designs two joint editions in succession (Dragon + Mythologie)
The five-country joint edition is probably the penultimate scaling stage. A sixth escalation to six countries would be conceivable (e.g. with Croatian Post, Liechtenstein, or Swiss Post), but organizational complexity grows exponentially with each additional joint partner. The Mythologie edition could thus be the peak of the joint-edition phase of the Crypto Stamp series.
